Keeping your children safe
The Children’s Act 2014 places two key requirements on ECE centres: to have a child protection policy in place and to carry out safety checks for people working with children.
Licensing criteria requires childcare centres to implement a process for the prevention of child abuse and a procedure for responding to suspected child abuse. Alongside this, some centres may also have a child protection policy. These measures are part of the safety net that helps ensure young children are safe whilst being cared for while their parents are not present.
Access the resources below to help you comply with regulation and set up processes to strengthen the safety net that protects children.
