Report finds ECE regulation is not fit for purpose
The Early Childhood Education regulatory sector review report has agreed with the Early Childhood Council’s view that the current system is not fit for purpose. “A patchwork of technocratic regulation and over-reaching funding conditions, that duplicate and extend regulations much further than ever intended, has wrapped the ECE sector in so much red tape there’s enough to tie up Santa. Today, the Ministry for Regulation has started pulling on the tape, and we encourage them to thoroughly unwind it,” said ECC CEO Simon Laube.
