Good governance and effective management practices

This standard requires that every licensed service provider ensures that the service is effectively governed and managed in accordance with good management practices. Services should have regard to any statement of National Education and Learning Priorities (NELP), collaborate regularly with the parents and family of children enrolled, and make adequate information available to parents.

Appropriate documentation and records must be developed, maintained and regularly reviewed and made available when required by agencies. ECE services are also required to develop and maintain suitable human resource management practices and undertake safety checking processes in accordance with the Children’s Act 2014.
